Doug Watch!

Right about now it's good to be a Douglas Fairbanks fan. Though very long overdue he's had a slew of books and exhibits and DVD releases and such. Now there's even more to enjoy! AMPAS will be screening "The Thief of Bagdad" on March 20th, and "The Iron Mask" on March 23. Both screenings will take place at 7:30 at the Samuel Goldwyn Theatre in Beverly Hills.

"Thief of Bagdad" is a color tinted print restored by Kevin Brownlow, and "The Iron Mask" was also restored under his supervision. Carl Davis will score both films. Tickets are $5 and can be bought online here. It sounds like it'll be a big event!

In addition to the two fantastic screenings, The Douglas Fairbanks Museum is holding their annual donation drive. They suffered from flood damage in 2007 (which forced the physical museum to temporarily close) and the whole affair has been run by a group of dedicated fans for 10 years now. So give em a little something! To coax your wallets open they are throwing an ''Online Film Festival'' posting the 2005 docu "The Great Swashbuckler" which they helped create. Click here to watch!
