One confusing Olive Discrepancy Solved!

A few months ago enraged by Michelle Vogel's incompetence, I found there were 2 major Ollie discrepancies. One was "What indeed was her first film?" and the other was who was the nephew she adopted...and when? The nephew one still eludes me (though I did figure they must have adopted him somewhere between July 1919 and March 1920) but I think I finally have figured out the film one! And I'm not even getting paid...take that greedy incompetent Miss Vogel!

Olive's Filmography goes as such:

*Beatrice Fairfax Episode 10, Play Ball
Filming Began: September 16th, 1916 according to Variety
Company: International Film Company
Released October 9th, 1916 (no IMBD you are wrong as that would be impossible)

*A Girl Like That
Filming began: Unknown
Company: Famous Players-Lasky (sometimes credited as Paramount)
Released Janurary 18th, 1917

*Madcap Madge
Filming began: Sometime after March 1917
Company: Triangle Pictures
Released: June 24th, 1917

So what was her first film?

Well in that information is the answer. Plus when you add up what Mary and Jack were doing at the same time it really comes together. Jack and Olive met February 1916 at the Santa Monica Pier. They were secretly married October 25th, 1916 in New Jersey (with Tommy Meighan as their only witness).

Backing up a moment Olive signed with IFC on July 1st, 1916 to play opposite Harry Fox in a 'series' of films. So she was dating Jack but not married when signed. Filming began in September, so again same deal. Beatrice Fairfax was released just before they were married.

Sometime I'm thinking in Summer 1916 (via release dates) Mary Pickford signed a new contract with Famous Players-Lasky giving her a record breaking salary of $10,000 a week...and also giving her entire family contracts for one thing or another. Lottie was a has been by this point (making one film a year until giving up completely), but Jack had never done anything other then small roles. He was given a contract with Famous Players and his first starring role was in "Seventeen" which was released via them November 16th, 1916.

So now enter "A Girl Like That". It conceivably could have been filmed anytime between October or November 1916 and December 1916. And it was released via Famous Players-Lasky in January 1917. This would be the only film Olive ever made for them. She never made another picture for IFC either. Maybe Jack was trying to get her on the payroll? Either way this explains where that film came from and why. It was her second film.

The water gets less murky after this. Olive signed with Triangle Pictures via Thomas Ince in April 1917. Filming began on Madcap Madge and news broke that she was indeed married to a Pickford. Madcap Madge was released that summer and she must have had a dispute with them during mid 1918 but this was really the start of her true film career.

Now would somebody please explain to me how you can get paid to write a book and yet just exclude all such info? Amazing. Frighteningly Amazing.
